Though I have experience with Industry level camera gear, I chose to make my current reel with a no-budget approach. With micro-crews of 3 or less and my personal camera I shot everything utilizing cheats like Vaseline and party lights to achieve the cinematic aesthetics that inspire me. I believe that anyone can make something cinematic since most of us carry camera/editing gear in our pockets everywhere we go. Even though fast lenses and follow-focus help a lot, a good eye is worth more than the gear you use.
